Sara Silvia Rosell (Taylor)

Sara is a specialist in Immigration & Nationality Law, certified by The State Bar of California, with extensive experience in a wide variety of complex immigration matters. She has successfully defended clients before the San Francisco Immigration Court, U.S. Citizenship & Naturalization Services, Administrative Appeals Office, Board of Immigration Appeals, the United States District Court of Northern California, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. At the U.S. District Court of Northern California, Sara filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Citizenship & Naturalization Services due to their failure to adjudicate a citizenship application in a timely manner, and she negotiated a favorable settlement for her client. At the Ninth Circuit, Sara argued successfully for an asylum applicant found not credible due to return trips that occurred prior to the applicant's final decision to flee. Subedi Sharma v. Lynch, No. 13-71501, 2016 U.S. LEXIS 6294 (9th Cir. Apr. 6, 2016). Watch the video of here argument here!
Sara graduated from the New York University School of Law and obtained her bachelor's degree in Rhetoric from the University of California, Berkeley. She has been a committed advocate for immigrants' rights since 2006, when she was an undergraduate student at UC Berkeley. Throughout her undergraduate and law school years, Sara devoted as much of her free time as possible to volunteering at numerous non-profits committed to helping immigrants seek legal aid. At NYU School of Law, she was a member of the well-regarded Immigrant Rights Clinic. Prior to starting her own law practice in June 2016, Sara represented hundreds of clients at well regarded immigration law firms and non-profits in the San Francisco Bay Area, including: Law Offices of Fellom & Solorio; Bean, Lloyd, Mukherji, & Taylor, LLP; Immigration Center for Women & Children; and Bay Area Legal Aid.
Sara is a first generation Latina, born to Argentine immigrants, and a native Spanish-speaker. In her spare time, Sara enjoys live music, theater, painting, photography, and bird-watching. She jumps at any opportunity to volunteer her time, especially to provide Know-Your-Rights information at free legal clinics throughout the Bay Area.
